Face search & recognition

Face Recognition Photo Software for Photographers

Face recognition photo software finds the same person across thousands of photos so nobody has to tag anyone. Lenzeit detects every face in an event, groups the shoot by person automatically, and lets each guest find the photos they appear in by taking a selfie — which turns a folder of unsorted images into a searchable event within minutes of upload.

In short

  • Groups people across a whole event without a single name or tag.
  • No reference photos needed — the groups form on their own from the shoot itself.
  • Guests find their own photos with a selfie, from any phone browser.
  • Sunglasses, hats and winter gear still match; full-face coverings do not.
  • Facial data is deleted automatically when the event expires.
  • FaceLock can hold back specific faces so they are never delivered.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload the event

Bulk upload the shoot. Detection runs as the batch lands rather than after the last file finishes.

  2. 2

    Faces are detected and encoded

Each face becomes a numerical signature. The signature is what gets compared, not the picture itself.

  3. 3

    Matching signatures are grouped

People who appear more than once are collected into a single group. This happens before anyone tells the system who they are.

  4. 4

    You review and lock

Rename or merge groups if you want to, and use FaceLock to hold back any face that should not go out.

  5. 5

    Guests search by selfie

A guest opens the gallery, takes a selfie, and gets the group that matches. They never see anyone else’s photos.

Frequently asked questions

What is face recognition photo software?

Face recognition photo software finds and groups the same person across a large set of photos. It converts each detected face into a numerical signature and matches signatures to each other, which lets it answer "show me every photo this person is in" without anyone tagging names first.

How do I find photos of myself at an event?

Open the gallery link the photographer shared and take a selfie. Face search compares your selfie against the faces already found in the event and returns the photos you appear in, usually in seconds. You do not need an account or an app.

Does it work if I was wearing sunglasses or a hat?

Usually yes. Sunglasses, sun hats and winter gear still leave enough of the face to match against. A full-face covering such as a ski mask is the case where detection genuinely cannot work.

Do I need a reference photo of everyone first?

No. Lenzeit clusters the people it finds across the whole event on its own, so the groups exist before anyone has uploaded a selfie or typed a name. A guest selfie is only used to pick which of those existing groups belongs to them.

What happens to the facial data afterwards?

Facial data is stored only while it is needed to sort and serve the event, and is deleted automatically when the event expires. It exists to organise that one event, not to build a profile that outlives it.

Can I stop certain faces from being delivered at all?

Yes, that is what FaceLock does. The host can hold back specific faces so those images are never delivered to anyone else, which matters for children, VIPs and guests who did not consent to being shared.

How is this different from the face grouping in my phone gallery?

Phone face grouping organises your own library for you alone. This is built for handing an event to other people: it sorts a shoot you did not appear in, and then gives each of hundreds of guests access to their own subset without exposing the rest of the event.
